RIGGINS, RUBY VIRGINIA, passed away June 16, 2013 at NHC Hendersonville. She was born March 26, 1922 in Asheville, NC. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister to all. Preceded in death by husband; Joseph Riggins, Sr.; daughter, Glenda Jean Pruitt; brothers, Hoy and Harvey Metcalf; sister, Katherine Metcalf. Survived by, sons, Joseph W. (Katherine Marra) Riggins, Jr., Michael (Jan) Riggins; grand-children, Tommy (Mindy) Pruitt, Randy (Marti) Riggins, Rachel (Mark) Dahlen, Charlie (Tara) Riggins, Michael Riggins; great grandchildren, Blake Pruitt, Brantley, Pierce, Lindi, Sloan Riggins; brothers, Joe, Carl, Calvin Metcalf; sister, Marchelle (Herb) Speas. She was a resident of Madison, TN and a member of City Road Methodist Church for over sixty years. She was a Past Grand Matron of Old Hickory Eastern Star Lodge # 598 and worked at K-Mart in Madison when they opened their store. She was an avid sports fan and was 1st team all state guard in 1940 with Valley Springs High School Basketball team. She loved to watch the grandkids play ball and all their activities. She was an active member of Fifty Forward and Windlands East in Madison, TN and participated in all their trips and activities. Her favorite activity was bingo. Visitation with the family will be at Madison Funeral Home Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. until service time at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Steve Bode officiating. Interment at Middle TN. Veteran's Cemtery Thursday 10:00 a.m. Pallbearers Randy, Charlie, Michael Riggins, Tommy Pruitt, Mark Dahlen and Ricky Metcalf.
