Charles Hubert Guess of Detroit, MI, formerly of Granville, TN passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2015; he was 76. Mr. Guess spent most of his adult life in the Detroit area where he worked as an Apprenticeship Roofer/Foreman in the construction business. He was a member of the Roofers Union Hall #149. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. Mr. Guess was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Cora Collier Guess, his brother, James Guess and his sister, Sherry Warden. He is survived by his loving sisters, Lorain Guess, Helen (Bill) Wade, Juanita (HC) Grisham and Sharon (Dwight) Henderson; step-mother, Nell Guess; nieces, Sylvia Frizzell, Darlene Guess, Melissa Bandy, Robyn Mull; nephew, David Warden; several great niece and great nephews, brother-in-law, Ted Warden. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home, 219 E. Old Hickory Blvd, Madison on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 3 to 8 PM and on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 9 AM until time of service at 11AM with Bro. J.D. Buckner officiating. His nephew and nieces will service as pallbearers. Military honors will be rendered at the close of the chapel service. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
