James William Thompson of Old Hickory, TN passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015; he was 91. Preceded in death by his wife, Dortha Willine Thompson and his daughter, Sandra Kay Watkins; brothers, Winford and Virgil Thompson. Survived by his daughter, Barbara (Steven) Capps of Hazel Green, AL; son, Kenneth (Carol) Thompson of White House, TN; brother, Gene (Sue) Thompson of Portland, TN; seven grandchildren, Dawn Taylor, Jeffrey "Jeff" Thompson, James "Jimmy" (Jennifer) Watkins, Paul Watkins, John (Ashley) Capps, Angela Watkins and Mary Lynne Capps; six great-grandchildren; Christopher Taylor, Matthew Taylor, Marshal Thompson, Jessica Taylor, Sandra "Sandi" Watkins and James William "Will" Watkins. Mr. Thompson was a member of Old Hickory Church of Christ, where he served previously as an Elder. He retired from Sears with twenty five years of service. Mr. Thompson was a WWII veteran, serving in the US Navy. Visitation will be Monday, February 23, 2015 from 3 to 8PM in the Chapel of Madison Funeral Home, 219 E Old Hickory Blvd., Madison, TN and where funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 11AM with Bro. Don Loftis officiating. Active pallbearers: James "Jimmy" Watkins, Jeffrey "Jeff" Thompson, Christopher Taylor, John Capps, Dean Thompson and Paul Watkins.
