Richard Smith
My older brother. Who also stepped up and in as a father figure after the passing of our father. A replica of our father in many ways. They both had hearts the size of heaven with an eye that constantly looked in that direction. Which led them to help many people in many ways. I being one of those benefactors. Imperfect. Yet perfect for this family. This family being a family of sometimes misfits and all the time perfect fits with in this family. A hard worker, he could sell ice too a freezing Eskimo and get him to sign up for monthly purchases the whole time having him believe it was his idea. A jovial laugh, that usually followed a joke or prank that he pulled. A sarcastic grin, after someone had pulled a joke or prank on him that he loved but would never admit. Baby blue eyes that could pierce you to the core when in trouble and or remind you how much he loved you after a four hour speech on what you did and why you shouldn't do it again. If your lucky the at the four hour mark it was over, sometimes that was just his intermission for more coffee or a smoke break. A huge loving heart and a bigger bear hug and a warm smile that always followed the speeches. To me he is always a loving giant that can do anything always asking for little to nothing in return except for love. My fondest memory is always, unbeknownst, to him was walking by his bedroom door one day and seeing this giant on his knees at the side of his bed petitioning the one and only that a giant could to receive the strength that he needed to continue on. This image has and will continue to serve me well.
Brother I dearly love you, I shall dearly miss you. I will always keep you alive to my family and friends as I always have through sharing of stories you told and memories we have. Please tell Daddy hey for me. Rejoice in family not seen for so long. Thank you for the love, the example, the direction and the help of putting my feet on the right path. I love you in your imperfections and your perfecting.
Love ya brother, till we meet again and always.
