Jimmie B. Westerfield born the 10th child of 13 to Margaret Dayton Tomerlin and Lawrence Blaine Westerfield was 82 years old when he passed from this earth to his Father in Heaven. Preceded by his parents in death and his siblings Eva Lou Meyer, Francis Haven, Lawrence Westerfield, Eddie Westerfield, Wilma Renfrow, Theta Daugherty, Glen Westerfield, Ann Lampton, and Linda Jo Westerfield. Survived by wife JoAnne Westerfield, daughters Debbie Hite (Eddie), Lisa Stallins, and Dayton Kandul (John): step children Amy Oldham (Bill Menees), and Dale Oldham : Siblings Yvonne Brown, David Westerfield, Jack Westerfield. He was known as Pop to grandchildren Nichole Chapman, Denah Sickmeir, Craig Dannheiser, Brittney Evans, Kelsey Thompson, Brady, Landyn, Carter, Hudson, and Ada Jane Kandul, and Aaron Menees. He is survived by 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. His dog and constant companion, Albert will miss him. Jim graduated from Central High School in Evansville, IN where he was known for and talented in basketball skills. Later he refereed many basketball games. His love of, skill, and knowledge of sports was unsurpassed. He coached a girl’s basketball team to a championship. His quick wit, his smile, and easygoing temperament made it easy for him to acquire many friends. Jim was an engineer on the railroad for over 30 years. He was a leader in the singles groups in two churches. Jim’s love of the Lord and love of his family were the North in his compass. He was a former member of Oak Hill Church of Christ in Evansville, and current member of Madison Church of Christ. His favorite pastime was serving in the Benevolence Center. Jim applied the book of James in his everyday life. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Madison Church of Christ Benevolence Center PO Box 419 Madison, TN 37116 are requested. Service is Tuesday evening 7 PM at the Madison Church of Christ. FACE COVERINGS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIRED.
