Obituary of Mary Alyce Maddux

Mary Alyce Comstock Maddux. Age 100. After a long illness, she passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, April 30, 2022. She was born in Hopkinsville, KY on January 21, 1922. She was a graduate of East Nashville High School class of 1940. Her career began at South Central Bell where she was a long-distance operator. She also worked for the State of California and was a bank teller for First American Bank at the 10th. And Woodland Street Branch. She was a member of Goodlettsville Church of Christ and a previous member of Lischley Ave. and Madison Churches of Christ. She was very active in the church where she served as a volunteer for the Sunshine Girls, visiting Nursing Homes every Monday, also served as the Secretary for the Alpha/Omega Sunday School Class, keeping attendance records, sending out flowers, and making calls to those who were sick. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Maddux, her great-grandson Riley Noil Williams, and her beloved cousins Carl and Tom Johnson. She is survived by her children; Helen Maddux Anderson (Dennis), Jerry Maddux (Claudia), and Lynda Maddux Ford, her Grandchildren; Tracey Pruitt, Shannon Fleet (Kevin), and Ashley Williams (Tommy), her Great Grandchildren; Austin Pruitt, Hunter Pruitt, Trinity Fleet, Kyler Fleet, Nathan Williams, and Gabe Williams. She is also survived by her dear and beloved cousins and friends. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon, Friday, May 6, 2022, at Madison Funeral Home, 219 E. Old Hickory Blvd., Madison, TN 37115, with the Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 Noon with Bro. Charles Baugh Officiating. Interment at Spring Hill Cemetery at 1:00 PM. Serving as Pallbearers; Nathan Williams, Jon Williams, Austin Pruitt, Hunter Pruitt, Russell Johnson, Kevin Fleet, and Gabe Williams. Honorary Pallbearers; Cindy, Tara, Tiffany, and Kevin from Avalon Hospice, Goodlettsville Church of Christ Elders and Deacons, Tom Harman, Tommy Young, Bob Murray, Dr. Bill Bounds, Dr. Tom Johnston, Charles Baugh, and Dr. Bill Ruhl. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in her name to The Tennessee Children’s Home or the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Fund.
